THE INFORMATION SECURITY SPECIALIST ROLE:
- The successful candidate will support the project process, ensuring that information security aspects are considered from the outset and throughout the project lifecycle.
- Responsibilities include taking charge of the security of tested products within project contexts, conducting both manual and automated source code reviews, and contributing to our security testing methodologies.
- This role also involves creating and updating technical documentation, completing security vulnerability analyses and assessments, and actively participating in external audits as needed.
- The Information Security Specialist will develop an understanding of our wider business operations, liaise with the Software Development department to maintain security throughout the lifecycle, identify and manage security flaws within business software, and interact with external bodies as necessary.
- Additionally, the role involves identifying and developing new tools beneficial for security testing processes and staying informed about new and emerging threats.
INFORMATION SECURITY SPECIALIST - ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
- Comprehensive knowledge of technology functions and their connection to information security.
- Proficiency in employing planned, structured methodologies for conducting and reporting on web application penetration tests.
- Hands-on experience with automated, dynamic, and static application security testing tools, coupled with manual security testing to identify vulnerabilities and logical issues.
- Expertise in analysing packets using Wireshark and similar tools.
- Familiarity with industry-standard information security practices.
- Possession of an Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) certification or a similar qualification is preferred.
