EAL Teaching Assistant - Blackburn

Prospero Teaching are are looking to recruit a full-time EAL Teaching Assistant to start working after the October half term and for the rest of the academic year. The role can start after the October half term, on Monday 4th November, however any applicants who are available sooner are encouraged to apply as the school are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible.

When you are in the role you will be there to ensure all young people have access to the highest levels of support which will enable them to flourish across the curriculum. You will make a difference to those students who have additional needs and require additional support and extended services to overcome barriers to learning. You will be joining a team that is committed to improving outcomes for all pupils. You will have excellent interpersonal skills.

The school has been recently inspected by Ofsted and has continued its remarkable rating of good, which it has held for many years. The school strives to provide the best they can for all their pupils, which is shown in their strong investment in intervention and the help you will provide. The students you will help have a warm relationship with the staff and see the school as a safe and nurturing place. Leaders are forward thinking in terms of behaviour and are quick to respond.

Experience, Training and qualifications:

Recent school experience or evidence of working with children
Experience of helping EAL students
GCSE English and Maths grade C or '4' & above
Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, however training can be provided)
Up to date Prevent awareness & FGM training issued in the last 3 years (essential, however, training can be provided)
Up to date behaviour management training (essential, however training can be provided)

To be eligible you must have/be:

Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
Provide a minimum of two references covering the last 2 years.
