Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced and adaptable Secondary Supply Teacher to join a dynamic and supportive secondary school in Liphook. In this role, you will provide high-quality teaching across various subjects, stepping in to cover short-term or long-term teacher absences. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality lessons across multiple subjects, using provided lesson plans or preparing material as necessary.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, maintaining a respectful and focused learning environment.
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet the diverse needs and abilities of students, ensuring all learners can engage and succeed.
  • Follow school policies and procedures, including those related to safeguarding and health and safety.
  • Mark work as required, and provide constructive feedback to students to support their academic progress.
  • Report back to the regular class teacher or department head on student progress and any issues encountered.
  • Build positive relationships with students, supporting their well-being and fostering a passion for learning.
  • Occasionally assist with additional school activities or duties as requested by the school leadership team.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification is essential.
  • Experience teaching in secondary schools, ideally across multiple subjects or key stages.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to maintain high standards of student behaviour.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with a proactive approach to handling new situations and environments.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding practices and a commitment to upholding a safe learning environment.
