Novax Recruitment is actively seeking a Council Tax Advisor based in Wood Green. This is a contract role working full time hours.
The job:
- Assist with all aspects of Council Tax through to Liability Order, including discounts, billing and exemptions.
- Ensure eligibility to any potential reliefs, discounts or, exemptions are identified and awarded within a timely manner.
- Provide high-quality professional advice, guidance and support in respect of Council Tax, Business Rates or BID levy to customers and external partners.
- Assist in the review of discounts, reliefs or exemptions to maximise revenue due to the council and identify and reduce incidences of fraud.
- Accurately calculate and create refunds where over payments have been made.
The candidate:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience within a revenues team.
- Proficient in the use of NEC and I@W processing systems.
- Ability to administer Council Tax and respond to all enquiries in line with legislation and council policy.
- Ability to negotiate payment plans on Council Tax debt, signposting for vulnerable and struggling customers.
