We have a fantastic opportunity for a Employment links Partnership Advisor at Rochdale Council, this is a full-time temporary role for the next 4 months, with the possibility of extension.

What is the role?

Rochdale Council are looking for an Employment Links Partnership Advisor to provide an adaptable skills and employment service to adults, some with complex needs, working within the framework of multiple commercially driven, performance by results, contracts.

What are your responsibilities?

  • Identify, engage and sustain engagement, with suitable and eligible learners for the contracts.
  • Identify skills and barriers to employment and deliver a combination of bespoke 1-2-1 and generic employability group support, with the aim to remove barriers.
  • To achieve progression outcome measures, defined through distance travelled, increased work experience and knowledge of the labour market, increased skills and entry into employment.
  • Using a range of diagnostic tools and skills, work with individuals (and wider peer network where appropriate), to plan and support an effective and intensive programme of work, to support the individual with barriers to them entering into skills and employment, for the purpose of improving long term outcomes for those individuals and their wider families, where appropriate.
  • Maintain ongoing frequent contact and support for a small caseload of customers, ensuring planned 1-2-1 and group activities are delivered through sequenced interventions, appropriate to the need of the customers, including activities delivered both through the ELP adviser, the customer and a wide range of partners (e.g. health, skills providers), to support the customer need, regularly measuring and monitoring progress against jointly agreed milestones.
  • Deliver effective action planning of a wide range of effective and innovative interventions for the customer, to ensure continued voluntary engagement, motivation and enthusiasm and ensure continued engagement of the customer with partner organisations, whilst specialist external interventions are being delivered.
  • Review and adjust work programmes to reflect the changing and multiple needs of the individuals and caseloads people in line with effective practice, to ensure an adequate programme of activities to challenge and support the customer to their full potential.
  • Work proactively with a range of referral partners, with specific reference to GM Programmes & Local organisations (Working Well, Children's Centres etc) to identify eligible customers who would benefit from the provision available and deliver awareness raising activities and events to ensure provision is suitably marketed across the Borough and opportunities for engagement are maximised.

What skills do you Need?

  • You must ideally have previous experience as an Employment Links Partnership Advisor or have experience within Recruitment / Customer Services
  • Must have strong IT Skills, as you will be using Microsoft office package, as well as internal IT systems as well
  • Excellent Telephone manner
  • Excellent people skills, as you will be speaking to the public, other members of staff and managers.
  • Valid Basic DBS
  • If you have worked on a welfare to work contract ideally - Restart / Work Programme / National Career Service / ESF Contracts, to get people working.
