We are seeking dedicated Learning Support Assistant and Teaching Assistants to join our team, providing essential support to students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in a range of schools across the area. The successful candidate will work in partnership with teachers to help students develop academically, socially, and emotionally, both in individual and group settings. We have both permanent and supply options available.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Support student learning across the curriculum, tailoring support to match individual learner's needs.
  • Encourage the development of students' thinking, social, and organisational skills.
  • Adapt and customise curriculum materials and make reasonable adjustments to remove barriers to learning.
  • Reinforce instructions from the class teacher and assist students with note-taking and understanding of home learning tasks.
  • Provide pastoral support to promote SEND students' resilience and safeguard their welfare.
  • Act as an advocate for students with SEND and support their transitions.
  • Collaborate with teachers in planning and preparation of resources and provide in-class support relevant to student needs.
  • Contribute to the wider work of the school, including supporting educational visits and lunchtime supervision.
  • Maintain records and reports to contribute to assessment and review paperwork.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities and contribute to departmental meetings and INSET activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in supporting SEND students in an educational setting.
  • Ability to tailor support to individual learning needs and make reasonable adjustments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with staff and advocate for students.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Willingness to participate in further training and professional development.
  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements within a school environment.
