Do you have experience of working within court of protection OR experience of working across any of social / community care, payroll, accounts? Would you like to work directly within the legal sector with fantastic career opportunities? The Recruitment Co. are supporting one of our key clients in Manchester and this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out work across property & financial affairs deputyship (arising from both personal injury and clinical negligence and/or from the Office of the Public Guardian panel and local authorities).
  • Grade D and/or Grade C work, within a sub-team within the wider department
  • Supporting the file handlers (along with the other paralegals) with their deputyship cases
  • Day to day contact with clients, dealing with their individual lifestyle requirements, providing practical advice and supporting and protecting their needs on a wide range of issues including financial planning, management of their funds and assets and care arrangements
  • Working with families, professional advisers, social services and local authorities, care providers, government bodies, benefits agencies, financial institutions, and other professional bodies
  • Making regular payments to clients and third parties, keeping accurate schedules of income and expenditure, forecasting future spending and creating and maintaining budgets

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Commitment to excellent client care and enthusiasm for court of protection work
  • Excellent IT skills particularly with experience in Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to communicate well orally and in writing, including dealing directly with clients when required
  • Attention to detail
  • Exceptional organisational skills
  • Numerate
  • Strong team working ethic
  • Effective administrative skills
