We are a dynamic educational institution committed to providing exceptional support and care for our diverse student population. We are currently seeking a School Nurse to join our Learning Support team, focusing on overseeing the medical needs of learners with complex health conditions, collaborating with medical professionals, and ensuring compliance with care plans and protocols.

The School Nurse Day to day of the role:

  • Identify and assess students with disabilities, learning difficulties, and complex medical needs.
  • Develop individual support and care plans to meet learners' requirements.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to implement relevant wellbeing and medical targets.
  • Liaise with medical professionals and therapists to update medical reports.
  • Safely store prescribed medications for individual learners.
  • Provide training to staff supporting learners with medical needs.
  • Create risk assessments and support plans.
  • Participate in EHCP Annual Reviews.
  • Stay informed about changes in SEND policies and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records and represent the institution at relevant meetings.
  • Monitor equipment requirements for students with medical needs.

The School Nurse Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Training in Manual Handling, First Aid, Medication Administration, and relevant medical areas.
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working with healthcare professionals or in relevant fields.
  • Experience working within CQC Standards and Regulations.
  • Sound experience of producing individual Care Plans and Risk Assessments.
  • Ability to lead and manage people effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Understanding of the Equality Act 2010 and the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Understanding of Safeguarding issues.

The School Nurse Personal Attributes:
