Quality Engineering Manager
Zotefoams plc is a world leader in cellular material technology with manufacturing facilities in Croydon, UK, Brzeg, Poland, and Kentucky, USA. We produce lightweight foams for various markets including sports and leisure, automotive, healthcare, and more. Zotefoams also owns and licenses patented technology and sells advanced insulation systems.
About the Role:
We are looking for Quality Engineering Manager to join us in a full-time hybrid from our Croydon office. You will be responsible for setting the direction and providing leadership for a team of Quality Engineers to improve outcomes, manage day-to-day quality assurance activities and to help successfully implement new products to our customers.
Role Responsibilities:
In this role you will lead and develop a team of four Quality Engineers with regards to training, mentoring, and guiding them as our business continues to grow. You will also set the direction, tone, and objectives for quality engineering at the Croydon and Poland manufacturing facilities.
This means being the focal point for quality engineering objectives and activities with the team whilst utilising the engineering resource across Zotefoams to ensure that our new products meet the needs of our customers when they are launched. You will also improve internal product quality metrics for product nonconformance, customer queries, yield and material disposition.
Finally, you will be a source of knowledge and experience for continual improvement activities whilst managing relationships with our customers for quality matters, smoothing problems and seeking solutions. In addition to managing internal stakeholders to achieve improvements in quality outcomes.
Experience and desirable skills:
- 5+ years of Quality Engineering experience with a manufacturing environment, ideally automotive, plastics or FMCG
- You have experience in managing and developing teams of engineers.
- Demonstrable experience of having implemented new products in a manufacturing environment with good outcomes whilst using common quality tools.
- Have experience in a customer facing role.
- Experienced in the use of problem-solving using six sigma, RCCA & 8D and be able to mentor people in their use.
- Excellent communication with the leadership abilities to influence others to achieve quality objectives.
- Highly computer literate and knowledge of quality management systems is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field is desirable.
