We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Commercial Assistant to join one of our fantastic clients. Reporting to the Director of Legal & Commercial Affairs, you will play a key role in supporting the company's commercial business. This includes working on tape and format distribution, publishing, consumer products, digital, and sponsorship. If you have a background in the media sector, particularly in IP/brand management, and are comfortable in a fast-paced environment, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities will include:

Commercial Exploitation

  • Identify and engage with potential licensees.
  • Assess proposals and negotiate basic deal terms with commercial partners.
  • Manage product approval processes, including reviewing samples, designs, packaging, logos, and copyright notices.
  • Maintain day-to-day relationships with distributors and licensees.
  • Collaborate with agents to secure talent engagement.
  • Liaise with internal staff to obtain editorial approval and buy-in.
  • Work closely with the Legal & Business Affairs department to finalise agreed deals.

Brand Management

  • Create brand decks, including audience data, press, and market research.
  • Assist in the creation and development of style guides, logos, and other branding elements.
  • Support the legal team in trademark registration and addressing IP infringements.
  • Conduct rights analysis and maintain relevant databases.

Revenue and IP Management

  • Collaborate with distributors, licensees, and the finance department to ensure timely reporting and updates on commercial P&L.
  • Track and analyse distributor and licensee performance.
  • Maintain and update the commercial tracker for deal completion and execution.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Some commercial experience in the media sector, ideally in IP/brand management.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Working knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Flexible, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced commercial environment.
