Full-time 37 hours per week Location: Newcastle College Salary: Total Overall package of up to £57,440 in year 1 as follows: Salary (Lecturer) - £30,000 – £40,000

Employer Pension Contributions up to £11,440

We are looking for an enthusiastic, suitably qualified and experienced individual to teach on either of the following programmes:

-Electrical Installation -Electrical Maintenance

You will be required to teach on full-time Level 2 and T Level in Building Services Engineering Level 3, part-time diplomas and Level 3 Standards for Apprenticeship programmes.

You will need to demonstrate an understanding and sensitivity towards a variety of learner needs and support the delivery team with a range of innovative teaching approaches to enable learners to reach their full potential.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To teach on full-time Level 2 and T Level in Building Services Engineering Level 3, part-time diplomas and Level 3 Standards for Apprenticeship programmes.
  • Engage in core duties including preparation, marking, monitoring student progress, preparing reports, setting and marking of internal and external exams, developing and preparing flexible learning materials.
  • To play a full part in the organisational and developmental work of the Department and Faculty including assistance with quality assurance systems.
  • To be involved, as necessary, in marketing of the College, Faculty and Department and play an active role in activities such as open days and through liaison with local and national employers.
  • To be involved in a range of Employer Engagement activities.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Has qualifications at Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant Construction discipline, and/or has recent and relevant industrial experience in related topics.
  • Has relevant experience in teaching/training and skills development.
  • Has /holds the relevant industry standard certificates (JIB Gold Card/ AM2) would be desirable.
  • Has or is willing to study for a relevant teaching qualification (DTLLS, PGCE or equivalent).
  • Has industry experience, with current knowledge and the ability to deliver to industry standard.
  • Is well organised and able to manage the peaks and troughs of a varied workload.
