The role: To be responsible for all aspects of accounting for the operation of the mixed use developments, ensuring that the highest standards of service is provided to all leaseholders and the Client.

Duties:

  • Ensure service charge and ground rent demands are raised on time and correctly.
  • Ensure commercial lessees are invoiced appropriately.
  • Assist in any legal action taken for service charge/ground rent arrears.
  • To the focal point for all outgoings from the service charge accounts.
  • Ensure development cashflows are monitored and early warning of any issues is highlighted.
  • Handle the timely preparation of actual vs budgeted expenditure on a quarterly/monthly basis and provide explanations on variances.
  • Prepare annual service charge accounts, certificates of expenditure, and balancing charges/credits and endure they are issued to leaseholders on a timely basis.
  • Engage with with all stakeholders on the budget cycle process and annual accounts.
  • Provide VAT return information to the freeholder ensuring that the development VAT is correctly accounted for.
  • Maintain transparent records and books of account.
  • Ensure historical outstanding matters are resolved.

Requirements:

  • Be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
  • Have worked in property finance
  • Ideally educated to degree level (or equivalent), a high level of computer literacy (Advanced MS Excel skills, preferably to Macro level); will be numerate; able to perform reconciliations / financial analysis and identify data errors and take corrective action
  • Some travel between developments and out of hours meetings may be required.
