Elevation Recruitment Group are working alongside a heavy industry manufacturing business to recruit a Maintenance Planner to join their facility near Scunthorpe.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager the Maintenance Planner will provide support for the maintenance team by effectively planning/scheduling work orders, overseeing inventory and coordinating contractors.
Our client is looking for someone with a passion for maintenance and the drive to improve maintenance operations.
Other duties of the Maintenance Planner include:
- Ensure that the maintenance team have the tools and resources to complete works
- Raise purchase orders and process invoice queries on behalf of the maintenance team
- Identify, schedule and coordinate contractors
- Generate and issue permits to work
- Oversee spare parts inventory
- Challenge suppliers on cost and quality to ensure the best value for money
- Plan/schedule maintenance activities in the CMMS whilst communicating to stakeholders
- Identify labour requirements and perform resource levelling for work orders
- Create, close off and assign work orders in CMMS
- Process corrective maintenance work requests
- Inspect completed work orders for adherence to expected standards
- Use CMMS/Excel and Microsoft programs to monitor achievement to schedule
- Train and coach users on site CMMS
- Select PM/Pdm/CBM/RTF strategies as appropriate to prevent failure causes and eliminate failure modes
- Conduct continuous improvement activities such as root cause analysis to improve maintenance performance and best practices
We are keen to speak with Maintenance Planners with the following skills/experience:
- NVQ3 Mechanical or Electrical maintenance
- HNC Electrical/Electronic Engineering
- Previous maintenance planning/coordinating or supervisory experience
- Computer literate and comfortable using Microsoft programs and CMMS programs
- An understanding of root cause analysis and problem-solving
