Senior Procurement Category Manager - Health

Are you Public Sector Senior Health Category Professional looking for a new challenge?

NHS SBS are seeking a Senior Procurement Category Manager to join their health category management team on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract. You'll navigate a regulated environment, focusing on creating, delivering, and running complex framework agreements to meet client demands. Your expertise will be criticality in crafting strategic plans to drive growth pipelines within your portfolio.

This position is predominantly home based, but there is an expectation to attend meetings at our Salford office once/ twice per month and where business needs are required.

What you will be doing:

  • Leading, mentoring and supporting a team of buying staff of different levels.
  • Creating, developing, and running a category portfolio of compliant solutions or Framework Agreements.
  • Developing and implementing short and long-term category strategies.
  • Driving uptake of portfolio across the landscape, working alongside key support teams including: Innovation, Implementation, Marketing and Consultancy.
  • Leading a portfolio of projects, working closely with key partners to influence procurement choice and drives savings and efficiencies and improve quality.
  • Offering procurement support to the customer Service Directorates, Heads of Procurement and Key Leaders on a national footprint.
  • Working with the supplier base ensuring that all aspects are covered within the category from a product, service, and collaborator basis.

What you will bring:

  • CIPS Level 5 or 6 qualified.
  • Experience in public sector procurement and compliantly working with the Public Contracts Regulations 2015, including relevant policy and guidance.
  • Relevant knowledge of the category and market.
  • Management of teams and resource.
  • Internal/ external collaborator management.
  • Experience leading procurements under public contracts.

It would be great if you had:

  • Experience and knowledge of working with the NHS.
  • Understanding and experience of e-sourcing and e-procurement solutions.

Salary: up to £55,000 per annum
