Governance Officer

An exciting position has arisen for a Governance Officer to work for a national health-based Charity to help the continuous development of the organisation's governance and compliance.

The role will be working closely with the Director of Finance, Planning & Resources to ensure the organisation is set up to effectively to manage, monitor and maintain oversight over its risks and statutory, financial and legal obligations.

Key responsibilities:

  • General admin support for the Director of Finance, Planning & Resources, including coordination of and administrative support for cross organisational Information Governance meetings, admin support for risk management activities
  • Support with Trustee Committee meeting papers preparation, distribution and minutes. Ensure action points are followed up on and manage any meeting related enquires or requirements
  • Set up and establish policy / process / procedure document templates for the organisation: ensuring a consistent approach to policy documents, including guidelines, standards, and procedures, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and effectiveness and alignment with values
  • Support Director of Finance, Planning and Resources in policy implementation
  • Work and collaborate with relevant teams to ensure standard approach to policy creation and all policies are transferred to new template
  • Set up policies management framework and register, with clear policy review schedule, ensuring that outdated policies are updated, identify any policy gaps and any upcoming policies for review are scheduled for review and updated in good time
  • Liaise with teams to roll out supplier management governance and coordination of supplier management and upkeep of supplier matrix
  • To assist with monitoring compliance with regulations and best practice across the organisation

Successful candidate profile:

  • Experience of working in governance and/or compliance
  • Significant experience of office systems and procedures, some of which will have involved providing administrative support at a senior level
  • Experience with policies and policy frameworks
  • Substantial experience of information management including gathering, handling, communicating and storage of electronic and paper-based information
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office packages including word processing, e-mail, presentation packages, databases, electronic calendar, scheduling and document management applications
  • Strong communication skills – written and verbal

Rate: £160-180/day PAYE inclusive of holiday pay
