Advanced Practitioner - Tameside MBC, Greater Manchester - Cared for Children Service - Up to £40ph

This is an exciting new role being introduced to the Cared for Children Service in Tameside. We are looking for Senior Practitioners who are experienced and skilled in working with young people who have complex needs and can exhibit challenging behaviour. The successful candidates will have extensive knowledge and experience of supporting young people with enduring mental health needs, or learning needs or due to the impact of conditions such as Autism/ADHD.

The role will involve the allocation of a small number of children, circa 8, who require a more intense support offer due to the complexity of their needs. The successful candidates will be required to undertake the typical responsibilities of an allocated SW, including visiting the children on a regular basis, supporting their plans for permanence, ensuring stability within their care environment, identifying risk and need and implementing multi-agency plans to meet need and to mitigate risk, chairing care planning meetings, ensuring family time is meeting the child's needs, assessment work. The successful candidates will need to be skilled in communicating and forming positive relationships with children and young people, alongside families, carers and multi-agency professionals.

Hybrid working with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office, which is based in Ashton-Under-Lyne, Tameside.
