Churchill Howard is working with a well-established and growing business who are looking to recruit a Financial Accountant. The role will offer development, mentorship and a great flexible work environment.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Oversee Group Tax Return: Lead the preparation of the group tax return by gathering
information from various teams, processing the data, reviewing results, and working with
the head of tax to finalize the return.
- Mentor Team Members: As a senior team member, set a positive example for assistant
accountants, offering guidance and support for skill development as needed.
- Assist with Team Oversight: Help the senior accountant review the work of junior team
members, including approving their entries when necessary.
- Support Process Improvements: Contribute to improving control processes, including
automating tasks, developing new methods, optimizing the use of available systems, and
simplifying procedures in group and central areas.
- Prepare Subsidiary Accounts: Manage the creation of subsidiary accounts and the related
notes for the group accounts.
- Maintain Internal Relationships: Build effective working relationships with key internal
teams, including other finance teams, systems administration, change management,
business information, and other relevant groups.
- Drive Process Enhancements: Continuously seek and manage opportunities for process
improvements and
automation, supporting projects and other tasks as needed.
- Document Key Processes: Ensure that documentation is kept up to date for all key
processes within the team.
- Handle Additional Tasks: Complete other tasks and projects as assigned by the manager.

- Qualified Accountant
- High numeric and analytical skills
- Proficient in Excel
- Positive attitude towards colleagues
- Strong communication skills, extremely diligent and self-motivated
