Salary: Up to £65,000 + car & package

I am partnered with a leading main contractor with a prestigious portfolio of infrastructure projects across the UK. We are currently supporting them with their needs for an experienced and driven Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team, working on a high-profile infrastructure project in Birmingham. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a significant project that will shape the region's future.

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a critical role in the successful delivery of the project's main package of works, including drainage, structures, and earthworks. You will work closely with the project team, providing financial expertise and ensuring that costs are managed effectively. Your key responsibilities will include managing cost value reconciliations (CVRs), processing subcontractor payments, forecasting project costs, and assisting with compensation events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage CVRs to monitor project performance against budget.
  • Assess, manage, and process subcontractor payments and applications.
  • Provide accurate cost forecasting and reporting to senior management.
  • Assist in the preparation and negotiation of compensation events and variations.
  • Collaborate with the design and construction teams to ensure cost-effective solutions.
  • Monitor and control project costs, identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and industry standards.
  • Provide support and guidance to junior team members.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the civil engineering sector
  • Strong understanding of CVRs, subcontractor payments, forecasting, and compensation events.
  • Experience using the NEC suite of contracts
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Relevant qualifications such as a degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or similar.
  • Professional membership with RICS or CIOB is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
