Operations Manager/Director - Lifting Moving

This company has been built from the ground up, in the specialised Lifting and Moving sector they have strived and supplied services and specialised equipment across the UK.

What they need I a motivated and experienced Operations Manager to join the team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and a proven track record in managing complex projects. It would be great if you are from a moving and handling industry like large cranes, or heavy off highway hire where the work requires a lot of engineering to do the job.

This role will involve overseeing all aspects of the operations, from initial quotations to project completion, ensuring commercial viability and efficient financial control.

Responsibilities:

  • Managed and controlled mechanical engineering works across the UK.
  • Ensure projects are executed profitably from quotation to completion.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and financial control team to optimize operations.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Manage and mentor a team of engineers and technicians.
  • Resolve technical issues and provide expert guidance.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in a managerial role within the lifting and moving industry.
  • Proven track record of successful project management and financial control.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Engineering [relevant software, e.g., CAD, project management tools].

Working Hours:

  • There will be days where you will be on-site, and travelling with the team, and days in the office hours will vary depending on workload.
