The Role:

We are looking for Senior Development Analyst with good SAS and SQL skills to join our Data Team, who can support us with the development of new business reporting, data-related processes & activities, refactoring of existing code, data analysis & visualisation, in line with best practice data & coding standards as defined by Data Office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will Develop new data extraction and reporting processes, ensuing that for each piece of work.
  • You will undertake a review and subsequently (where needed) redevelop, refactor & rationalise the legacy data and extraction & reporting jobs, code, and processes.
  • You will standardise routine processes for greater consistency, efficiency, and control to deliver quality.
  • You will act as mentor/coach to more junior members of Data Office team. (No direct line management)
  • You will take ownership of your own personal development plan; working with your direct line manage to ensure your development goals and set, monitored and the appropriate training & development put in place.
  • You will be a Technical Champion for data, SAS, SQL, Excel, and all technical data & information related processes.
  • You will manage your own workloads & deadlines as well as those of the team. Being proactive in managing workload & holidays in conjunction with the business partner's priorities to ensure all deliverables & SLAs are met.
  • You will maintain a short to medium plan (3-6 month) for project work including project details, timings, resource required, deliverables, overlaps, follow up, analysis.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Experienced user in SAS and SQL
  • Advanced skills in Data Visualisation, PowerBI, Tableau and Qlik Sense
  • Highly numerate with strong Excel skills
  • Project Management exposure
  • Database skills in either Hadoop, Oracle, or Teradata
  • Web Development in Data- PHP and JavaScript would be a nice to have.
