Pay: £14.50-£16.50 per hour (depending on experience)
About the roles:
Duties include site maintenance, basic repairs, health & safety checks, key holding, and ensuring a clean, safe, and secure environment for pupils and staff. These schools offer consistent hours, supportive teams, and the chance to make a real impact.
Must-Haves:
- Previous caretaker or site management experience within a school setting.
- A solid understanding of health & safety procedures.
- A proactive, hands-on, and dependable approach.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
Key Responsibilities:
- Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs (e.g., fixtures, fittings, furniture).
- Site security - opening and locking up school premises.
- Health & safety checks (e.g., fire alarms, emergency lighting).
- Basic grounds keeping (e.g., litter picking, clearing pathways).
- Supporting deliveries and porterage.
- Ensuring the site remains clean, safe, and in good working order.
- Liaising with contractors and reporting any major issues.
