Role Overview:
As a 2nd Line Support Engineer, you will be a crucial part of my client's technical support team, responsible for resolving more complex and escalated issues that their clients encounter. You will work closely with their 1st Line Support team and other technical experts to ensure the seamless operation of their clients' IT systems, particularly focusing on Microsoft 365 environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 2nd line technical support to clients, both remotely and on-site as required.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Microsoft 365, including email, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams.
  • Manage and maintain Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and Exchange.
  • Assist with the setup, configuration, and maintenance of client hardware and software.
  • Perform regular system updates and backups to ensure data integrity and security.
  • Work collaboratively with the 1st Line Support team to escalate and resolve more complex issues.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all support activities using their ticketing system.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide out-of-hours support as needed.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in a 2nd Line Support role within an MSP or similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, and Exchange management.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate) are highly desirable.
