Experienced Project Manager Required in the Defence Automotive Sector

We are seeking a skilled project manager to join our client's team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have experience delivering technical, cross-discipline programmes or an engineering background, with extensive knowledge of managing projects from inception to successful completion.

Essential Requirement: Previous experience managing in the defence automotive industry

Other requirements:

  • Extensive experience working in a project management, contract management or requirements

management role for UK Defence industry

  • .Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in delivery of technical, cross-discipline programmes or engineering background
  • Managing project to tight timescales and under pressure
  • Currently holds or has previously held UK Security Clearance of SC or higher

Desirable:

  • Technical/Engineering background
  • Manufacturing/machining knowledge
  • Experience within commercial / business development function
  • Experience in writing AESPs or knowledge of ILS requirements

The right applicant should possess excellent Technical expertise that includes the ability to interpret data accurately while providing valuable insights into potential issues faced by clients during the execution phase.

Leadership Skills
To be considered for this role you must exhibit strong leadership skills with proven capability at leading teams effectively towards achieving set objectives within given timelines.

Communication Abilities
Excellent communication abilities both verbal and written are vital as they play a critical part when liaising between different departments assigned under your management portfolio.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and implement Project Management processes on all projects/bids and support improvement of process where necessary.
  • Define clear roles, responsibilities and accountabilities for delivery of projects, documenting these in a RASIC matrix in the Project Management Plan (PMP).
  • Create and manage relationships with customers and subcontractors.
  • Collate all inputs for and produce Project Management Plan; maintaining this through the lifecycle as the "single source of truth" for all topics relating to the project.
  • Manage accurate resource demand for your project and effectively communicate in a timely fashion any resource gaps.
  • Lead effective Risk Management through the life of the project.
  • Manage and maintain the schedule in line with internal and contractual requirements.?
  • Hold regular schedule reviews with the project team to ensure variations are understood,?with latest forecast and new changes incorporated
