Job Description:
We are assisting Thames Valley Police in recruiting for a People Services Administrator. This role provides a professional business support service within the People Directorate to internal and external customers, covering Recruitment, Resourcing, Employee Administration, Learning & Development, and Service Desk functions.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a high-quality, confidential service and advice to internal and external customers, based on Force policies and procedures.
  • Manage relationships with stakeholders to ensure productive working, resolve problems, and implement continuous improvement.
  • Input and quality assure data on Force ICT systems to facilitate the provision of management information.
  • Support the production of management information to enable effective performance management and decision making.
  • Provide administrative support to specific projects including research and data collection.
  • Proactively manage applicants through the Recruitment process, ensuring timely progression and regular communication.
  • Manage end-to-end Recruitment processes, including applicant management, vetting, reference checks, medical screening, and course enrolment.
  • Provide assessment and testing administration in support of recruitment/promotion processes.
  • Support strategic resourcing and liaise with Delivery Managers for advance planning.
  • Provide a comprehensive advice and guidance service via helpline and mailbox query service.
  • Ensure the web portals are updated with current information and manage goods and services via the SSAMI Portal.
  • Provide effective and efficient reception services at Sulhamstead Training Centre.

Requirements:

  • Attained or working towards NVQ Level 2 in Customer Service or Business Administration.
  • Good standard of education with GCSEs (Grade 9-1/A-C) or equivalent in English and Maths.
  • Proven experience in a demanding administrative role, ideally in an HR or L&D environment.
  • Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to organise, plan, manage, and prioritise workloads.
  • Flexible approach to working, with willingness to work evenings and weekends as required.
  • Experience of Recruitment/Resourcing/Planning processes is desirable.
  • Capability to travel to different locations across the Force; a full UK driving licence is advantageous.
