Robert Half is working with a dynamic company dedicated to providing high-quality environmental services in West Sussex, seeking a skilled and motivated Management Accountant to join their team.
Role Overview: As a Management Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timely delivery of the financial reporting. Working closely with the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for maintaining a robust financial control environment and supporting key financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:

Statutory Accounts & Audit:
-
Contribute to the preparation of statutory accounts for the Group.

Collaborate with external auditors and address audit-related matters.

Balance Sheet & General Ledger:
-
Complete assigned balance sheet reconciliations.
-
Process accounting entries, including journals, through the General Ledger.
-
Handle payroll accounting entries with accuracy.

Invoice Processing & Monthly Tasks:
-
Correctly code non-PO invoices for processing and approval (e.g., Fuel, Rent).

Process prepayments and accruals on a monthly basis.
-
Review Sales and Purchase Ledgers and allocate payments on account.
-
Review the nominal ledger for capital items.

Fixed Assets & Compliance:
-
Maintain the Fixed Asset register and calculate depreciation.

Assist in maintaining and developing the compliance and controls environment.

Inter-Company Transactions & Reporting:
-
Process inter-company transactions as required.
-
Provide input for ONS reporting to ensure timely and accurate submissions.

Assist in delivering accurate financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders, including Board Reporting.

Continuous Improvement:

Drive a continuous improvement ethos within the finance team, working closely with the transactional manager and IT.
Qualifications and Skills:

Qualifications:

Qualified or Part-qualified accountant (CIMA/ACA/ACCA).

Technical Skills:

Knowledge of UK GAAP is advantageous.

Strong data analytics skills with proficiency in Excel and financial modelling.

Strong team player with a flexible, proactive approach.
