An exciting opportunity within UK's largest retail bank and household name are looking Lead DevOps Engineer based in London.
Role: Lead DevOps Engineer
Location: London (2 days week on site)
Duration: 6 Months
Status: Inside IR35
Rate: Circa £850/Day
Candidate will lead a small team of talented engineers, driving the development and maintenance of our cloud infrastructure and ensuring the seamless operation of our services.
Experience and skills Required:
- Proven experience as a DevOps Lead, with leading small teams.
- Extensive experience with Azure public cloud services.
- Proficiency in Terraform and Chef for IaC and configuration management.
- Strong understanding of IaaS and PaaS solutions.
- Experience with distributed computing environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- A proactive and innovative mindset, with a passion for continuous learning and improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a small team of DevOps engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure using Azure public cloud.
- Utilize Terraform and Chef for infrastructure as code (IaC) and configuration management.
- Manage both Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) solutions.
- Ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of distributed computing environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align DevOps practices with business objectives.
- Monitor and optimize system performance, implementing best practices for security and compliance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement.
