Production Manager

My client is currently looking to recruit an experienced Production Manager to join their site on the outskirts of Edinburgh. You will be working with a successful manufacturer, that have a culture on site that is results-driven with a strong focus on continuous improvement.

The company is well established, financial stable and have earned a reputation as an excellent employer. With a current focus on diversification into new markets, this is an exciting time to join a stable and profitable business that is keen on developing further.

With an increase in production on site, it has become inevitable that they are now looking for another Production Manager to support them.

Responsibilities :

  • Manage and evaluate machine and labour resources to ensure continuous productivity and minimal downtime
  • Planning and organising production schedules
  • Distribute manpower effectively
  • Ensure production is cost effective, ran as efficiently as possible and minimise overtime spend
  • Escalate production issues or problems to the Operations Manager as required.
  • Ensure that Team Leaders, Supervisors and Section Leaders are fulfilling the Roles and Responsibilities expected of them
  • Overseeing the production process, ensuring adherence to required process and quality controls
  • Reviewing departments performance against Action Plans and KPI's
  • Provide motivation, support and guidance to all employees
  • Ensure the shop floor is kept up to date on factory performance and news relevant to the business

Experience required:

  • 5+ years minimum experience in a manufacturing management role
  • Sound knowledge, understanding and examples of implementation of lean manufacturing principles and methods
  • Implement a culture of continuous improvement, always seeking out opportunities to do things better
  • Excellent project management skills
  • The ability to lead, motivate and influence large multi-functional teams
  • Successful track record of training employees in productivity and safety
  • Successful implementation of an effective succession planning program
