Position: Learning Support Assistant
School: Mainstream Secondary School, Thamesmead, Greenwich
Start Date: September 2023
Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term (until the end of the academic year)
Pay Range: £80.00 - £100.00 per day (dependent on experience)
Requirements:
- Previous child-based experience.
- Possession of an enhanced DBS on the update service.
- Genuine passion for working with young people.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach.
Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to students with learning difficulties or disabilities, both inside and outside the classroom.
- Collaborate with teachers to implement lesson plans and educational activities.
- Assist students in overcoming learning barriers and promoting inclusivity in the classroom.
- Support students in their academic progress, including homework, assignments, and exam preparation.
- Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their emotional well-being and personal development.
- Work alongside other professionals, such as educational psychologists and speech therapists, to ensure comprehensive support for students.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents/guardians as required.
