Position Summary:
As a Battery Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and optimising advanced battery systems for our renewable energy applications. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team of engineers, scientists, and project managers to ensure our energy storage solutions meet the highest standards of performance, safety, and efficiency. Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop advanced battery systems for renewable energy storage applications, including lithium-ion, solid-state, and other emerging technologies.
- Conduct research and development to improve battery performance, lifespan, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate battery systems with renewable energy generation and distribution systems.
- Perform modelling and simulation of battery performance under various operating conditions.
- Develop and implement testing protocols to evaluate battery performance, safety, and reliability.
- Analyse test data and provide recommendations for design improvements.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in battery technology and renewable energy storage solutions.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the scale-up and commercialization of new battery technologies.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field (a Ph.D. is a plus).
- Proven experience in battery design, development, and testing, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
- Strong understanding of electrochemical principles and battery materials.
- Proficiency in battery modelling and simulation tools.
- Hands-on experience with battery testing equipment and methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations related to battery systems.
