Purchase Ledger Manager

This isn't a job for someone who just wants to "own the AP process."

It's for someone who wants to tear it apart and rebuild it properly.

There's a backlog, there's bottlenecks, there are workflows that haven't been questioned in years. Suppliers are frustrated. The team's doing their best, but they need someone who's been around the block and knows how to lead during chaos, not just when things are ticking along.

You'll be brought in on a 6-month contract. Not to keep things going. But to fix them.

You'll need to:

  • Lead a small team that's under pressure and could really use someone who actually knows what they're doing.
  • Get to grips with the whole AP operation from clunky processes to payment runs that make no sense.
  • Calm down some irritated suppliers and turn firefighting into actual planning.
  • Spot the problems quickly. Fix them even quicker.
  • Translate "finance speak" into "ops speak" so people actually understand what's going on.

You'll need to know your VAT from your CIS. You'll need experience in a fast-moving business. And ideally, you'll have battle scars from fixing a messy accounts payable function before.

This isn't about maintaining. It's about improving, overhauling and leaving it in a much better place than you found it.

If you're the kind of person who thrives in that kind of environment, this company wants to give you the keys.
