Role Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with primary-aged children and be proficient in using PECS and Makaton. You will play a crucial role in supporting our students' learning and development, working closely with teachers and other support staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of tailored educational activities.
  • Support students in their learning, ensuring they can access the curriculum effectively.
  • Use PECS and Makaton to facilitate communication with students.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff.
  • Monitor and record students' progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with primary-aged children with special educational needs.
  • Proficiency in PECS and Makaton.
  • A nurturing and patient approach to working with children.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special education (desirable but not essential).
