Principal Ecologist - East Midlands (Flexible Working Available)
Salary: £45,000 - £52,500 per annum, depending on experience
Contract: Full-time, permanent (37.5 hours per week)

Principal Ecologist Role:
- Leading Projects: Managing and delivering a wide range of ecological projects from start to finish.
- Mentoring: Guiding and developing junior team members, helping them to grow their skills.
- Surveying: Conducting site surveys and ensuring the accuracy and quality of ecological data.
- Quality Assurance: Overseeing the production of high-quality ecological reports, including Ecological Impact Assessments and Biodiversity Net Gain Assessments.
- Client Interaction: Acting as the key point of contact for clients, navigating them through all project stages.
- Business Development: Providing technical input for fee quotes, bids, and tenders, contributing to the company's growth.
- Strategic Growth: Collaborating with leadership to expand the company's ecological service offerings.
Requirements:
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years' experience in ecology or a related field.
- Education: A relevant degree in Ecology or an associated discipline.
- Leadership: Previous experience in a senior or principal role
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Biodiversity Net Gain and Ecological Impact Assessments
- Professional Membership: Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., CIEEM), or willingness to apply.
- Licenses & Skills: Ability to conduct UKHab Surveys independently and/or holding protected species licence(s) is a plus.
- Driving: Full UK driving licence required.
- Eligibility: Must be eligible to work in the UK.
