Skills for Life Tutor

Salary: £34,000 per annum (£14,526.72 pro rata)

Hours: 16 hours per week (2/3 days TBC)
Our client seeks to employ a Skills for Life Tutor to join its enthusiastic, vibrant, and hardworking team. As one of only two specialist horse racing colleges in the UK, this third sector provider delivers training for people in both racing and other equine industries. Located in the scenic grounds of a private estate near Doncaster, it achieved Ofsted Grade 2 for overall effectiveness and Grade 1 for both Behaviour and Attitudes and Personal Development in December 2022.
Tutors are responsible for the design, delivery, and assessment of learning programmes within the appropriate curriculum area(s).
You should be highly motivated, an excellent communicator and be able to work as part of a team. You must have a willingness to work with young people who will present challenging behaviours, which at times can be stressful.
Requirements
- You must possess a teaching qualification, Certificate in Education (Cert Ed), as a minimum.
- You will also need a Level 3, A Level or equivalent Subject Specialism in Literacy, and a Level 2, GCSE, or equivalent Subject Specialism in Numeracy.
- Experience of teaching Functional Skills English and Mathematics at Level 1 and 2 and GCSE English and / or Mathematics is also essential.
Benefits
The salary is £34,000 per annum (£14,526.72 pro rata) with a contributory pension scheme. An initial holiday entitlement of 25-days plus Bank Holidays (pro-rata), and Life Assurance (2x salary).
