Reception Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about helping and delivering on learning for Early Years (Reception)? Do you have experience working within a Private Nursery? Would you like to start a role where you work 8.30 - 3.30 (Monday to Friday) and have 12 weeks holiday per year?

Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting for a Reception Teaching Assistant to join and work at a primary school in Hornchurch, starting in September 2024.

Job Requirements:

  • Working with a wide range of class teachers and SLT to deliver excellent teaching and learning within EYFS.
  • Supporting children on a 1:1 or small group basis.
  • Accompanying children on trips to provide 1:1 support.
  • Supporting assessment and evidencing learning for future planning
  • Working with the teacher to create stimulating classroom displays and learning resources

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous primary school or childcare experience (vital).
  • A proven ability to work on their own initiative (vital).
  • A high level of communication skills and the ability to relate positively to children and adults (vital).
  • A can-do attitude (vital).
  • A commitment to the happiness, well-being, self-esteem and progress of everyone at the school (vital).
  • The ability to communicate well with other professionals and the family of the pupil and recognising the importance of good relationships with parents and carers (vital).

  • To have worked with children within a school setting or other setting and be able to provide us a reference for this
  • An Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks - you can apply for an Enhanced DBS with Tradewind if you do not hold one already
  • A CV which covers the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained
