Astral Legal have a partnered with a global Insurance company as they are recruiting a Data Protection Manager for their well-established and successful Data Protection team. In the role you will assist, and where appropriate, deputise for the DPO in all aspects of the work within the team.

Astral Legal have a partnered with a global Insurance company as they are recruiting a Data Protection Manager for their well-established and successful Data Protection team. In the role you will assist, and where appropriate, deputise for the DPO in all aspects of the work within the team. Support the absolute focus to ensure the business is aware of its regulatory requirements. You will update the business where necessary on Data Protection changes and legislation.

The Data Protection Manager will carry out the following duties:

  • Monitor regulatory developments and promote staff and management awareness with all Data Protection legislation.
  • Provide advice to the business on interpretation / impact / compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in updating / developing internal policies.
  • Assist in monitoring and assessing ongoing compliance with the jurisdictions the business works across at a global level.
  • Personal data breaches, data subject rights, consent withdrawal, cookie use etc.
  • Provide management information to senior stakeholders, including contribution to board and committee reports.
  • Work with senior stakeholders within the business on all Data Protection queries.
  • Working with the Data Protection officer on all Data Protection queries, trends, issues.
  • Ad hoc work as required, delivered within time and quality expectations.

The ideal Data Protection Manager will possess the following.

  • Direct knowledge of Data Subject Rights
  • Knowledge of GDPR requirements.
  • Experience of using One Trust,
  • Experience working with a seasoned DPO
  • Experience representing the DPO at meetings.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Working at a global level
  • Create and update document processes, guidelines relating to privacy obligations.
