An iconic public sector organisation is currently recruiting for a Head of HR Business Partnering on an interim basis.
Based in of London, they have lovely offices in a picturesque location next to the river Thames.
The role is being offered for a 6 month contract on a day rate of £600 - £700 inside IR35 (umbrella) and on a hybrid working basis with a typical working week being 2 – 3 days in the office.
They seek a Senior HR leader with strong senior stakeholder management experience. You will have 2 HR Business Partners supporting you as well.
Jo b Purpose
In partnership with directorate leaders and senior managers, lead the achievement of strategic objectives through the provision of high-quality strategic HR advice, direction, insight and support. This includes a multi-year horizon, understanding of the position of the organisation as a whole, and supporting organisational change as well as enabling the delivery of the People Strategy.
Principal Accountability
- Work closely with directorate leaders and gain in depth understanding of the directorate to be able to answer Human Resource focussed questions on their behalf.
- Immerse yourself in the directorate being supported whilst observing lines of management through your own professional lead (i.e. Chief People Officer).
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with directors and senior managers acting as a credible strategic partner within the business area/s.
- Lead the formulation and development of people related strategies and plans across business area/s.
- Influence and challenge strategic decisions ensuring stakeholders are fully aware of the people impact, providing accurate management information to enable evidence-based decision making.
- Offer innovative HR solutions to strategic issues based on specialist expertise and knowledge of the business area.
- Advise and coach senior directorate colleagues on appropriate action ensuring that professional and corporate standards are upheld.
- Manage the relationship between the business area/s and the People Function to ensure collaboration and the provision of a high level of service.
- Develop strong and effective relationships with all the People Function Centres of Excellence (CoE) i.e. Reward, Employee Relations.
- Provide coaching and support to enhance people management capabilities amongst the senior managers and directors to enable robust strategic financial planning and budget management.
- Embrace and advocate the drive to improve HR systems and processes, representing the needs of the business area/s in those development discussions
- Manage staff and budgets allocated to the job in accordance with the company policies
The ideal candidate
- CIPD qualified (or equivalent) with up to date knowledge of employment law and best practice
- Significant experience of working in a strategic role in a complex organisation
- Experience of providing credible professional advice, challenge and innovative solutions to senior stakeholders
- Experience of implementing significant improvements to HR systems and processes
- Experience of presenting technical / complex information (orally and in writing) clearly and concisely to non-technical senior stakeholders
