Housing Liaison Officer / Customer Service / Administrator

We are seeking a Housing Liaison Officer to join our dedicated Private Housing Standards team. This role is crucial in regulating privately owned housing, ensuring properties are safe and habitable. As the sector grows, it's vital that tenants have a reliable point of contact for concerns about their homes. The Liaison Team serves as the first line of support for tenants and provides administrative assistance for licensing programs.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for tenants experiencing issues with their rented properties.
  • Handle incoming customer calls and manage the customer inbound inbox, providing timely and effective responses.
  • Perform initial assessments (triage) of reported housing issues, with support from housing support officers.
  • Provide administrative support for Mandatory HMO Licensing and Selective Licensing.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service and ensure all interactions are handled with empathy and professionalism.
  • Utilise Microsoft and other IT packages to record, track, and manage customer queries and cases.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a customer service environment, preferably within an office setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Drive and enthusiasm for delivering an exceptional service to customers.
  • Confidence in using Microsoft Office and other IT systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to manage a variety of tasks and respond to varying customer needs.
