Part-time SEND Teacher

Are you a passionate and dedicated teacher with a strong commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are currently seeking a qualified teacher with experience with SEND to join our dynamic team to help enrich the lives of students with additional needs. A passion for SEN is essential, with previous experience teaching children with SEND desirable.

We are currently working with an external care provider within the Forest of Dean who provide holistic support for children and young people with additional care needs. They are looking for someone to work 2.5 days per week to tailor learning based upon the goals on their EHCPs. The needs of the individuals are extremely varied, from autism to profound and multiple learning disabilities, therefore their goals and targets will be different too. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

- Plan, deliver, and assess lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of students with a range of SEND based upon their individual on their EHCPs.
- Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities within the classroom.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including teaching assistants, therapists, and support staff, to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, promoting effective communication and partnership.
- Utilise a variety of strategies and resources to engage and inspire, promoting a love for learning.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with relevant SEND experience.
- Knowledge of various learning difficulties and disabilities.
- Familiarity with the latest SEND legislation and best practices.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Commitment to professional development and staying current with educational trends.
