Head of Tax

Role:

Working closely with the Corporate taxation team, you will develop and implement multiple internation tax strategies across the Portfolio, contribute to the Mergers and Acquisitions function pre- and post-close, participate directly in driving returns, all while ensuring that the Portfolio adheres to local and international tax and statutory reporting requirements. The group has 30+ companies with revenues in excess of £250m

  • Oversee the Taxation Function for the entire Portfolio, determining a strategy focusing on acquisition / legal entity structuring, risk mitigation and overall tax efficiency
  • Provide sound strategic taxation decision-making, focusing on both our new acquisitions and existing businesses
  • Ensure taxation compliance for all entities across more than 30+ geographies globally, including submissions, current and future tax provisions, interfacing with tax authorities, assisting in the coordination of audits, etc
  • Act as an advisor to our global finance teams in matters such as compliance, structuring, transfer pricing, and more, as well as share insights and best practices for continuous improvement of their internal processes
  • Support the Portfolio M&A deal team with pre-acquisition diligence and post-acquisition integrations, aiding in the training and on-boarding of new finance teams.
  • Monitoring acquisition performance, validating that key taxation drivers are met and identified risks are mitigated
  • Keep abreast of the latest tax developments and issues that impact the organization such as changes in legislation, court decisions, rulings, etc
  • Continuously improve efficiencies related to the tax processes across the Portfolio, including systems, forecasting, reporting and business efficiency
  • Coordinate and oversee external consultants as required

About You:

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in a leadership role and managing a team.
  • Membership of a professional tax body.
  • Experience in the preparation and review of complex tax returns and in the preparation and review of tax provisions.
  • Software industry experience an asset.
  • Experience in a global business, handling multiple stakeholders, time zones, and currencies.
