JOB TITLE:Legal Cashier
LOCATION: Plymouth
SALARY:£30,000 - £40,000 dependent on experience
HOURS: 9:00am - 5:00pm, 1 hour lunch

THE COMPANY: Our client is a reputable law firm based in Plymouth, committed to providing exceptional legal services to their clients and maintaining the highest standards of financial management. They are currently seeking a diligent and experienced Legal Cashier to join their team.
THE ROLE: As a Legal Cashier, you will play a vital role in managing the financial transactions of our client's busy organisation, ensuring compliance with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Accounts Rules and maintaining accurate financial records. If you have an eye for detail and thrive in a fast paced varied role this is the perfect opportunity for you
Duties include:
- Process client and office account transactions, including receipts, payments, and transfers.
- Reconcile bank statements and promptly resolve any discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in accordance with SRA Accounts Rules.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and other financial reports as required.
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial closing processes.
- Collaborate with fee earners and support staff to ensure efficient financial operations.
- Handle queries related to financial transactions and provide support to the finance team.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Previous experience as a Legal Cashier or in a similar role within a law firm.
- Strong knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules and legal accounting practises.
- Proficiency in legal accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to liaise with internal and external contacts.
