Here at Contract Personnel, we are recruiting an experienced Drainage/Flood Risk Assessment Engineer to join a nationally established client. My client, who has a strong focus on engineering consultancy and surveying, are looking to add a skilled engineer that wants to develop their career. The ideal candidate would want to develop themselves within a national company, whilst displaying skill and determination to complete a task.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Engineering design to produce flood risk assessments, drainage plans and relevant infrastructure (SuDS for example), for all development projects
- Preparation of initial drainage designs
- Ability to understand and interpret geotechnical reports and soil permeability
- Work alongside design teams and client representatives to manage delivery times and procurement
- Work to budget limitations
- Technical appraisals, feasibility/concept designs and cost estimation
- Carry out and assist with surveying tasks, liaise with clients and contractors and monitor work progression
- Strategic designs and processes for medium to large scale projects
- Site inspections/reviews and analysis of data (maps, reports, geotechnical drawings, data etc)
- Monitor current development projects in the area and improve knowledge of overall operations
- Adherence to health and safety protocol
- Adherence to company policy and guidelines
- Undertaking duties requested by the company
Qualifications Required
- A Civil Engineering degree/HND/HNC or educational equivalent
- Experience on completing flood risk assessments, drainage strategies or detailed SuDS design
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and Microdrainage/FLOW or similar software
- Knowledge of UK Codes of Practice and Design Standards for highways and drainage
- Knowledge of drainage design and associated infrastructure
- Knowledge of planning processes for developments – desirable
- Full UK Driving License

The Role
Contract: Full time, permanent
Shifts: Monday to Friday, standard business hours
Salary: Up to and including £30,000 per annum
Location: Mobile role, Norwich
