Facilities Manager

Our local authority client based in East Midlands are urgently seeking an experienced Facilities Manager.

*£30 an hour Umbrella*

Experience

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum of five years management experience within a FM management role.
  • Experience of managing large budgets
  • Experience of developing and implementing policy, protocols and procedures.
  • Experience in managing large internal and outsourced operational teams.
  • Good understanding of building mechanical and electrical plant and equipment, including experience in the operation of and use of, Building Management Systems (BMS) and DALI (or smart) lighting system.
  • Experience of contract management inc designing specifications, auditing, dealing with large complex operational and financial data and dealing with non compliance.
  • Experience of managing large teams working across Multiple remote locations.

Qualifications

Essential Criteria:

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant subject
  • ILM level 5 in supervisory management or equivalent BIFM level 5 qualification
  • CBIFM (Certified Member - British Institute of Facilities Management)
  • NEBOSH General Certificate
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Skills & Knowledge

Essential Criteria:

Excellent knowledge in relation to the day-to-day management of buildings in the following areas:

  • Fire: Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
  • Legionella: ACOP L8
  • Asbestos
  • Health and Safety legislation
  • Good knowledge and understanding of Financial Regulations, Procurement and Contract Regulations, including Schemes of Delegations and budget management principles.
  • Knowledge of leadership and management principles, including coaching techniques, managing performance and capabilities
  • Proficient in use of building CCTV and a good Knowledge of Data Protection Act 1998 and Freedom of Information Act 2000, best practice on data management and security
  • Excellent written, verbal skills & knowledge of MS Office.
  • Knowledge and awareness of Local Government services (both statutory and discretionary), Constitution and Central Government Policies/Strategies in line with designated area of responsibility.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of building mechanical and electrical plant equipment and critical systems that directly link to facilities services (e.g. BMS / SAM / DALI /Security access software / ADT fire panels / intruder alarm systems)
  • Experience of Writing reports that contain the correct level of information to enable senior managers, Chief Officer Group and Members to make informed choices and decision.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of all the building compliance processes, procedures and tasks relating to health and Safety & data protection.
