In the role of Senior/Principal Ecologist, you will spearhead various projects, leveraging your expertise in field surveys, assessments, and reporting while guiding clients through planning and licensing processes. You will be responsible for effective project management, ensuring timely delivery within budget, and clear communication of recommendations. This position demands exceptional management skills, keen attention to detail, and strong written and verbal communication abilities, along with experience in supervising team members and collaborating with other professionals. Additionally, you will play a key role in developing fee proposals and maintaining high-quality standards.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in ecology.
  • CIEEM Membership.
  • Ability to lead Phase 1 habitat/UKHab assessments and conduct protected species surveys.
  • FISC Level 4 certification or higher
  • BNG assessment experience
  • Protected species licence (ideally Level 2 bat licence)
  • Proven ability to produce written assessments (desk studies, technical reports, PEAs, EIAs).
