Elevation Recruitment Group are pleased to be recruiting for a growing and successful service business based in Hull as they look to recruit a Finance Manager into the team.
The role has come about due to a recent restructure of the finance team and the appointment of a new CFO. You will be working in a number 2 role and will help lead the finance team, responsible for managing half the team which will be a team of 6 reporting in directly.

The Finance Manager role will give full responsibility for all areas of controlling & accounting, treasury and management accounting & statutory accounts. You will also oversee the day-to-day delivery of the AP, AR, commercial support, project accounting, revenue accounting, and management accounting teams.
Duties will include: -
- Undertake day-to day coordination of the controlling & accounting, treasury and management accounting & statutory teams
- Oversee the forecasting routines and disciplines of the business, including strategic forecast models and operations cashflow forecasting.
- Oversee the preparation of month-end management accounts and preparation of finance packs for key stakeholders.
- Oversee the portfolio of balance sheet reconciliations and preparation of supporting schedules
- Oversee the statutory audit and R&D year end processes, ensuring these are planned and prepared in time
- Improve internal efficiencies and reduce company costs
- Put in place robust financial systems and processes
- Review spending against budget, with individual departments
- Undertake cost-benefit analysis for financial opportunities
- Responsibility of the annual budgeting process
- Support the company in taxation
- Responsible for overseeing the financial delivery of key client contracts, reporting on accuracy and completeness of project revenues and project performance
- Drive reporting transparency on costs associated to key assets
- Responsible for flagging commercial risks and opportunities
- Act as a finance business partner to operational leads within the business, building and fostering relationships with key internal stakeholders.
- Interpreting and communication financial information to non-financial managers
- To lead by example, driving a culture of continuous improvement and collaborative working
- Understand regulation, legislation and industry developments and how they will impact the business
To be successful you will have the following skills and experiences: -
- Qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA)
- Previous experience of managing a finance team
- Strong technical accounting skills
- Excellent in the use of Microsoft suite
- Experience of working in a fast-paced department
- Knowledgeable regarding using financial software packages
- Acting as strong team player and people oriented
- Strong financial analysis and reporting skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights
- Proficient in financial modelling, forecasting and budgeting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships and effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
- Strong commercial acumen and strategic business knowledge
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to persuade and influence
- Be able to lead by example and manage others proactively
