HR Advisor

Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Council are looking to recruit a HR Advisor to join ourteam based in Ipswich . You will be working on a part time, permanent basis working 14.8 hours per week. The successful candidate will earn a competitive salary of £34,834 - £41,418 per annum (pro rata).

Part time and job share opportunities will be considered.

What we are looking for

We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and forward-looking HR Advisor to join our HR and OD Team.

Experience in working in HR is essential, as well as a broad HR knowledge base.

About the role

The HR Advisor role will play an integral part in our generalist HR team. Reporting into the HR Partner and working alongside a second HR Advisor, this role will provide coaching, advice, and guidance to all our service areas. You will build trusted relationships with our managers, guiding them and supporting them on our people, policies, and processes. The role will support all generalist HR casework across the councils. The successful candidate will also support organisational restructures and help maintain a positive relationship with the unions.

A curious mindset is required as part of our team, ensuring you keep up to date with change and share best practice with the wider HR and OD team and across the councils.

About you

The successful candidate will have a growth mindset and will be educated to CIPD level 5 or equivalent. You will be visible to our customers and will naturally want to seek out and maintain excellent working relationships with them and HR colleagues alike to provide a world-class and efficient service. Encouraging early discussions on any people issues arising. Experience of enabling Managers to resolve their people issues simply and appropriately within the Council's policies and values. Also having the ability to manage a large caseload in a variety of areas is essential.
