About the role

We have an exciting opportunity at Hargreaves Lansdown (HL) for a Quantitative Analyst to provide data analysis, support, and performance/risk reporting to internal teams as part of the wider investment decision making frameworks across HLFM and HLAM. The research and analysis produced primarily supports the management of the HLFM's fund range, and HLAM's Wealth Shortlist.

This role involves helping the team design, maintain and develop systems used for quantitative analysis, as well as assisting and providing insight across varied ad-hoc tasks and projects. They will collaborate with a broad range of teams to implement strategic system solutions, develop investment propositions, and improve decision making across the business.

What you'll be doing

  • Maintaining existing datasets, models and reporting - including risk and performance attribution and ESG metrics
  • Implementing continuous improvements to process and analysis methods
  • Proposing, develop, test and embed new analysis models and techniques based on requests, projects or gaps in existing quantitative analysis
  • Collaborating with other teams across the department and wider business to help manage and improve HL investment propositions
  • Providing first line risk oversight functions ensuring HLFM products remain compliant, escalating any issues as required

About you

Required

  • Highly logical and numerate
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in coding languages such as Python, SQL, VBA
  • Experience in data modelling, analysis and visualisation
  • Experience in applying quantitative methods and statistical analysis - preferably related to financial markets

Desirable

  • Experience in the asset management industry
  • Knowledge of financial markets, risk management, and investment strategies
  • Experience using market data software (LSEG Eikon/Datastream, Morningstar, MSCI BarraOne & RiskManager) and associated APIs

Salary

The basic salary for this role is circa £42,000 per annum.

Interview process

This will be a 2-stage interview process.

Working Schedule

The role is based in our Bristol head office, BS1 5HL. This role is permanent, full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We have returned to the office, however for this role we offer a hybrid flexible working pattern, preferably in the office 3 days a week.
