Safety, Security, Health and Environmental Manager

As the SHE Manager your primary objective will be to champion our Environmental Management System, ensuring that our workplace practices prioritize environmental sustainability and comprehensive reporting. You will support health and safety initiatives, promote overall well-being for all individuals, and help ensure business continuity. Your responsibilities include implementing and maintaining effective safety protocols, fostering a culture of environmental awareness and compliance, and minimizing the environmental impact of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

? Monitor, evaluate, and review SHE policy and practice, making recommendations and implementing new policies and procedures suitable to comply with ISO standards.

? Drive environmental initiatives and ensure accurate and timely environmental reporting.

? Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure adherence to environmental laws and regulations.

? Provide expert advice on the implementation and management of regulations such as WEEE and REACH.

? Assess existing and emerging SHE risks to protect the environment, employees, customers, and the organization.

? Cultivate a culture of environmental awareness and compliance across the organization.

? Monitor and assess environmental performance, striving for continuous improvement.

? Manage the Environmental and Safety Management Systems (ISO 45001 and 14001)

? Assist with the implementation of global digital systems for SHE management.

? Develop and implement waste management strategies to minimize waste generation and promote recycling and reuse.

? Identify and mitigate environmental risks associated with company operations.

? Track and report on sustainability metrics, ensuring continuous improvement in sustainability performance.

? Identify and address employee training needs, delivering appropriate training as required.

? Conduct relevant SHE onboarding for new employees, including induction, system integration, and provision of necessary safety information.

? Manage the statutory environmental reporting to comply with Environmental regulations such as weee, EPA and SECR Report

? Measure emissions to develop and implement a comprehensive carbon footprint plan, aiming to reduce the organization's overall carbon footprint and achieve sustainability goals

? Produce quarterly updates on SHE performance for management review.

? Utilize the Global Enablon Risk Management system for legal register, risk management, and compliance initiatives.

? Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Internal Audits, ensuring thorough and effective audit processes.

Your Profile:

Qualifications

? Environment Management Certification essential eg. NEBOSH, IEMA

? Degree in Environmental Science is advantageous.

? Accreditation by an approved Environmental associated (e.g. IEMA) (Preferred)

Experience/Knowledge/Skills

? Extensive experience in SHE roles, preferably within the medical or healthcare industry.

? In-depth knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental legislative frameworks across Europe and the UK.

? Expertise in ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards, including implementation and management.

? Exceptional executive-level communication skills, with the ability to deliver impactful presentations on complex topics to leaders and stakeholders.

? Experience in designing, developing, and implementing effective safety programs, policies, and procedures.

? Ability to train employees at various levels, fostering engagement and skills development.

? Proficient in using online systems and strong computer skills.

? Understanding of green gas reduction program requirements.
