Role Overview
As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure high standards of care are delivered to our clients across the community. You will lead by example, ensuring compliance with CQC regulations and inspiring a culture of excellence, dignity, and person-centred care.
This is a hybrid role involving both remote administrative work and field-based responsibilities. You will be expected to conduct client assessments, perform spot checks, supervise staff, and respond swiftly to care delivery needs in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the service
- Conduct initial client assessments, care plan reviews, and risk assessments
- Carry out spot checks and unannounced visits to monitor quality and staff performance
- Assist with recruitment, training, induction, and supervision of care staff
- Ensure compliance with CQC Fundamental Standards and internal policies
- Monitor and improve care delivery in line with service user needs and preferences
- Manage rotas and emergency cover alongside the care coordinator
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, families, local authorities, and professionals
- Lead and motivate care staff, fostering a positive, respectful, and accountable team culture
- Participate in on-call duties on a rota basis (shared with management team)
Field-Based Expectations
- You will be required to travel locally for client assessments and spot checks, approximately 3 days per week
- Must hold a valid UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicle
- Mileage will be reimbursed in line with policy

Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' experience in domiciliary or community care
- NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Level 5 desirable or willingness to work towards)
- Strong knowledge of CQC standards and regulations
- Proficient in care planning, safeguarding, and team supervision
- Flexible to meet service demands, including occasional evenings/weekends
