The Second Order Risk Group (SRG) Desk, within GFX Business, focuses on evaluating and protecting business against Counterparty Credit risk and at the same time increasing revenue, sustainably.

You will have responsibilities across GFX's portfolio globally covering corporate, banks, funds, hedge funds, and be a key member of the team setting counterparty risk appetite for the business.

You will be involved in portfolio management of the existing portfolio and in specific deals providing fundamental analysis and credit solutioning.

Your key responsibilities

  • In-depth fundamental credit analysis of underlying counterparty structure and peer analysis to take a comprehensive view on credit risk being underwritten in derivative books
  • Combining credit analysis with market view (yields, credit spreads) to establish the appetite & hold period for underlying credit. Participate in counterparty due-diligence calls/visits
  • Prepare high quality credit memos to be presented to Credit Risk Management team
  • Liaising with legal team recommending appropriate clauses in the International Swaps and Derivatives Association/Credit Support Annex (ISDA/CSA) documents
  • Regular and ongoing monitoring of counterparty portfolio to establish any change in credit risk and accordingly recommend alteration in trading strategy in terms of reducing/exiting the credit position, de-risking strategies or building incremental positions into derivative books
  • Connect with senior stakeholders across risk functions and business to drive long term projects

Your skills and experience

  • Previous relevant experience in fundamental credit analysis, preferably in an international bank
  • Understanding of credit market/derivative products and legal documentation
  • Good negotiation skills and ability to deal with senior stakeholders in risk functions and business
  • Self-starter with ability to firmly communicate ideas and clear recommendations based on analysis
  • Team player, flexibility, and excellent interpersonal skills
