Interim Head of FP&A

Sewell Wallis are currently partnering with our client, a well known business based in Sheffield as they look to appoint an Interim Head of FP&A for a period of 6 months. Reporting into the CFO you will head up the commercial finance function, take a lead role on budgeting and forecasting for the business and will be heavily involved in transformational change projects within the finance team.

This is a great opportunity to join a business mid way through a transformation project of which the successful candidate will be in the thick of. What will you be doing?

  • Second in command to the Finance Director you will lead a team of 13 business partners and FP&A Analysts
  • You will play a lead role in the Financial Planning and Analysis team, leading the monthly reporting and forecasting processes across all networks, ensuring reporting and analysis is delivered accurately, insightfully and on time.
  • Working alongside the Reporting Manager, provide insightful and impactful commentary to the consolidated financial I&E results; both for month end reporting and forecasting/budgeting
  • Provide a best-in-class finance business partnering service, including Budget Holders, the Senior Management and Executive Teams.
  • Provide strong support to the Finance Director through the delivery of high-quality business and financial analysis, with detailed outcomes and benefits, to identify and present coherent rationales for change, to support continued coordinated, consistent and effective delivery of services across the business.

What skills do we need?

  • Qualified ACCA, ACA or CIMA.
  • Significant experience operating at as senior level, leading an FP&A team within a complex business.
  • Experience owning budgeting and forecasting processes and reporting to senior stakeholder level.
  • Change management experience.
  • A results driven, highly motivated individual with flexibility to travel to Birmingham and London when required.
